How to login to windows with a temporary password and choose your own password.
If you already have a domain credential (login name such as ACME\Jdoe) but forgot your password then an authorized requester such as (owner\manager) at your organization or your authorized partner will need to open a new support ticket and formally request a "password reset" for your specific windows account.
SkinnyOffice Support will then proceed to verify the request for reset is valid; and then remote into your organizations compute block, locate your windows account in the domains active directory and then assign it a one time use "temporary password" (i.e. ACME\Jdoe = "P@ssword") The new temporary password will be documented in response to the support ticket and that password may then be used 1x to log into the windows domain.
To log in with a temporary windows password user will need to:
1) Turn ON the workstation
2) Allow Windows to Start
3) When prompted for login provide their domain login name (i.e. ACME\jdoe )
4) When prompted for password enter the "temporary password" provided.
5) Windows will immediately require user to choose their own personal password
Note: Windows Security required passwords to meet complexity requirements. (8 = length of (A-Z, a-z, 0-9, Nonalphanumeric characters: ~!@#$%^&*_-+=`|\(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/ ))
6) Windows will require user to type their new password a second time and verify match 1:1.
7) This will will now be their new password.
